With origins stretching back to their first shop in Callander in 1830, Campbell's bakery is still a family business now in the hands of Iain Campbell – whose grandfather (and the founder's great-grandson) set up the Crieff shop in 1929. By comparison the Comrie shop, set up in 2013, is a mere infant. Six generations of the same family is plenty of time to perfect the recipes that keep their two shops well stocked with all manner of breads, cakes and bakes, from traditional favourites such as Scotch pies (as endorsed by local hero Ewan McGregor), oatcakes and shortbread to bakery stalwarts such as sausage rolls, empire biscuits and morning rolls, as well as global offerings including focaccia, olive ciabatta, Polish bread and bagels.

The Campbells also love to share their wealth of baking knowledge and regularly hold baking classes in their bakery in Crieff. Iain leads each class step-by-step through his family's recipes for traditional Scottish shortbread, oatcakes and Selkirk bannocks and new this year he is teaching how to make the bannocks seen in the Outlander series.
